English: Aerial view of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV-42) in the Mediterranean Sea, in 1976/77. On her last deployment Carrier Air Wing 19 (CVW-19) was embarked on the FDR. Also part of CVW-19 were Hawker Siddley AV-8A Harrier fighters of Marine attack squadron VMA-231 Ace of Spades, five of which are visible on deck. Two Harriers are preparing for a take-off run.
