Summary

Description
English: This prepared slide offers a good example of a thin (left) and thick (right) blood smear to be examined under the microscope. Though they are more difficult to read, thick blood films are more sensitive in detecting malaria parasites because the blood is concentrated, allowing a greater volume of blood to be examined.

This selection has made Wikipedia available to all children. SOS Childrens Villages believes education is an important part of a child's life. That's why we ensure they receive nursery care as well as high-quality primary and secondary education. When they leave school, we support the children in our care as they progress to vocational training or higher education. Sponsoring a child is the coolest way to help.
