English: This graph shows annual per capita carbon dioxide emissions from fuel combustion between 1990-2009 for the Kyoto Annex I and non-Annex I Parties. "Per capita" means the average emissions per person in a country. For the Annex I Kyoto Parties, average annual per capita emissions in 1990 were 10.22 tonnes, and in 2009, were 8.41 tonnes. For the non-Annex I Parties, average annual per capita emissions in 1990 were 1.58 tonnes, and in 2009, were 2.73 tonnes. This graph is based on data taken from the International Energy Agency (IEA) publication “ CO2 Emissions From Fuel Combustion: Highlights (2011 edition);” publisher: IEA, Paris, France. The PDF version (size 1,717 KB) is freely available for download from the IEA. The bar graph was produced using data from an Excel spreadsheet, which is also freely available for download (1,008 KB).
