Aids Orphans in Chad
Chad is both the fifth largest country in Africa and one of the poorest. According to UNICEF, the incidence of HIV/AIDS is just under 5% of the adult population. There are about 100,000 AIDS orphans, which is about 20% of all orphans.
SOS Children began working in Chad in 2004 and is developing programmes to help orphaned and vulnerable children and their families affected by HIV/AIDS, including testing and treatment.
