Helping Pakistan flood children
A look at the various ways that you can help children and their families in Pakistan through SOS Children
Almost 20 million people have now been affected by the terrible floods in Pakistan.
With eight Villages in the country unaffected, we are ready and able to provide shelter for unaccompanied children, and have begun an Emergency Relief Programme which will deliver food parcels to families in need.
Many of our supporters have contacted us offering to sponsor a child who has been affected by the flooding.
Giving a child a family and home is one of the most powerful things we can do for a child who has lost their parents and experienced such trauma. However, it will be some time until we can establish whether children who find shelter with us are available for sponsorship.
Following a disaster there is an inevitable period of chaos, and our priority is to establish whether that child has any living relations and if possible, whether we can reunite them with their biological family.
If you would like to help our work in Pakistan, why not consider:
- Sponsoring a child already living with an SOS family instead, many of whom were orphaned following the 2005 earthquake and are still in need of sponsorship.
- Donating to our Pakistan Flood Appeal by helping us deliver the desperately needed food parcels. Each food parcel cost £13 and we are hoping to send more than 100,000
- Make a regular Direct Debit to our ongoing work in Pakistan
- Make a one-off donation to our work in Pakistan
Thank you for your support
