SOS Children's Village Doubí, near Karlovy Vary
The SOS Children's Village of Doubí is located about 10 kilometres from the city centre of Karlový Váry; the children attend school in Karlový Váry and also get medical assistance in this city. The official opening ceremony of the SOS Children's Village Doubí took place in June 1970 in the presence of numerous guests of honour.
The SOS Children's Village Doubí consists of twelve family houses with rooms for the SOS aunts (who support the SOS mothers and take care of the children when the mothers are on leave), a community building, a educational and psychological counselling centre, a workshop and a house for the village director. Additionally, a playground and a sports field have been created.
The SOS Youth Home in Karlový Váry also belongs to the SOS Children's Village Doubí; youths can live there during their vocational training or higher education and prepare for an independent life.

Karlovy Vary is a town and spa in the west Czech Republic, about 120km west from Prague, home to one of the most famous spas in Europe. The population is around 70,0000. It is situated at the mouth of the river Tepli in the river Ohře. Tepli thermal springs in the spring, and there is hot water. There are 13 large thermal springs and over 300 smaller ones. The area also has very attractive wooded surroundings which are a popular destination for hikes and walks.
