Pinsent Masons LLP Partnership with SOS Children
Introduction
Since 2007, international law firm Pinsent Masons has worked with SOS Children giving support in numerous places, including in China, India, Haiti and Zambia. In 2012 Pinsent Masons renewed their support and dedication to supporting SOS Children’s work. In October 2012 Pinsent Masons employees travelled to Zambia to celebrate the opening of the new SOS Children's Village in Chipata, Zambia, and to visit the new Pinsent Masons House there.
Project information
Pinsent Masons understands the importance of a long-term charity partnership with SOS Children’s projects. Their support started with SOS Children’s Village Kaifeng in China which cares for over 100 children made vulnerable through poverty or abandonment. In 2010 when a devastating earthquake hit the island of Haiti, Pinsent Masons responded by supporting SOS Children’s Emergency Relief Programme and restoration efforts.
Major support has been given to the construction of a brand new SOS Children’s Village in Chipata, Zambia where disease, poverty and a lack of infrastructure and services means the new Children’s Village and facilities are badly needed. With a focus on charitable donations for environmental projects, in 2010 and 2011 Pinsent Masons supported solar projects in India, allowing two of our Children’s Villages to benefit from sustainable and reliable energy.
Our partnership shows how an organisation can have a real impact around the world. In May 2012, at Pinsent Masons’ ‘Starfish’ conference on CSR, Emma Crosby told of her experiences of visiting an SOS Children’s Village first-hand. This short video shows Emma’s story and why Pinsent Masons supports SOS Children’s work.
